Meet Chelsey!
I’m a licensed independent clinical social worker in private practice, and I love incorporating holistic and expressive techniques, like art, into my healing work. I’ve been working full-time in the mental health field since 2014, when I graduated from Wheelock College (now part of Boston University) with a Bachelor of Social Work. I went on to earn my Master of Social Work from the University of New England in 2015 and spent four years as a school-based social worker before launching my private practice.
During my time working with children, I used trauma-informed and attachment-based techniques to support those at risk of involvement with Child Protective Services or who had already been involved with CPS. I also provided attachment-based support to children adopted internationally or from the foster care system.
After having my own children, I transitioned to working with only adults, bringing my training in trauma and attachment techniques, along with my passion for expressive therapies, to help them heal their inner child. I have trained with Dan Siegel in Interpersonal Neurobiology and have received additional training in Internal Family Systems Theory.
As a talk therapist, I’ve learned the profound value of nonverbal healing methods such as art, movement, play, and energy work. I’m also Reiki certified, an active yogi, and a certified SoulCollage® facilitator. It brings me so much joy to hold space where people can deepen their relationships with their inner selves, their communities, and their higher power.
I’m a Sandwich native and was thrilled to transition my practice back home to Cape Cod. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, knitting, and practicing yoga. You can often find me relaxing with my husband and two daughters on our dock at Mashpee Wakeby Pond.
